This past meeting we worked straight from our Try It book, and completed Careers. We will also tie our Womens speaker night in March into our Career badge. We discussed each girls interests, and how they could choose a career that involves those interests. We discussed with adults what dreams they had as children, and if there were any careers that they had thought of that did not exist at the time, but do now. Mrs Carol, and Mrs Marissa helped out a lot. We also acted out charades of different job titles, and made up our own business cards.
Oh, and the girls have been the ones shooting our meeting photos lately, so you will see an added amount of silliness, which is okay with me. Our girls love having a good time together.

Thinking Day Posters, and Swaps
Thinking Day is an annual event run by council, and it celebrates that GS is not just in the United States. We celebrate as many countries as possible. Each troop chooses a country to represent, and when we all come together, we bring: food, drink, music, customs, to share. This year, troop 924 is representing Jamaica!
This night we were working on making some swaps to hand out with the colors of the Jamaican flag. And of course we end our meeting night with a small snack, and a game of "telephone".

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT Dec 09
Troop 924 visited Bay Tree Rehab/Nursing Home in December of 2009. This was our second year doing this project. The residents always enjoy seeing some young smiling faces, and the girls enjoyed helping the community.
Preparing for Christmas
We had a busy December. The girls worked very hard to create these cute snowflake ornaments. They were handed out to the residents at Bay Tree nursing home when we went christmas caroling. They also worked on labeling about 400 candy canes that they handed out during the Tarpon Christmas parade.
Thanksgiving gets closer
With Thanksgiving close at hand, we talked about the meaning of Thanksgiving, and we made some beautiful paper lanterns to display on the table.
